2.1 Account Information
To use LeMemery, you create an account with:

- Password (encrypted and never stored in plain text)
- Optional display name
2.2 Content You Create
When you use the app, we store:
- Meme images you upload or import
- Captions and tags you add to memes
- Favorite status and organizational data
- OCR text extracted from images (using Apple's on-device Vision framework)
2.3 Technical Information
We automatically collect:
- Device type and iOS version (for compatibility)
- App version and build number
- Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics)
- Anonymous usage analytics (via Firebase Analytics)
2.4 Photo Library Access (Optional)
LeMemery requests access to your Photos library only when you:
- Import memes from Photos
- Export memes to Photos
We never automatically access or scan your photo library. Access is granted on a per-use basis and can be revoked in iOS Settings at any time.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 Core Functionality
We use your information to:
- Authenticate you and maintain your account
- Sync your memes across all your devices in real-time
- Store your memes, captions, and tags securely
- Enable search functionality (including OCR text)
- Provide backup and restore capabilities

- Identify and fix crashes and bugs

4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Firebase Cloud Services
LeMemery uses Google's Firebase platform for cloud services:
- Firebase Authentication: Manages your account securely
- Cloud Firestore: Stores meme metadata, tags, and captions
- Firebase Storage: Stores your meme images
- Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports to improve stability
- Firebase Analytics: Tracks anonymous usage statistics
4.2 Data Location
Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform servers. Firebase automatically encrypts data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
4.3 Security Measures
- Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Firebase security rules restrict data access to authenticated users only
- Each user can only access their own memes and data
4.4 Developer Access
We (the developer) have administrative access to the Firebase infrastructure to maintain the service, debug issues, and respond to support requests.
We do not routinely access, view, or analyze individual user content. Access to user data is limited to:
- Technical support and bug fixes
- Responding to user-initiated support requests
- Legal compliance and security investigations
- Aggregate analytics (anonymized)
We will never:
- Share your memes with third parties without your consent
- Use your content for purposes not disclosed in this policy
- Sell or monetize your personal data
5. User Responsibilities
Your meme library is private to you. We do not monitor, moderate, or review the content you upload to your personal library.
You are solely responsible for the content you store and share. By using this service, you agree not to upload:

- Content that violates our Terms of Service
While we do not routinely access your content, we reserve the right to remove content or terminate accounts if we become aware of violations through:

6.1 We Do NOT:
- ❌ Sell your data to anyone

LeMemery uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): Cloud infrastructure for data storage and sync. See Firebase Privacy Policy
- Apple Vision Framework: On-device OCR text extraction (data never leaves your device)
7. Your Privacy Rights
7.1 Access and Control
You have the right to:
- Access all your data through the app
- Export your memes and metadata at any time (ZIP export feature)
- Delete individual memes or tags
- Modify or update your account information
7.2 Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account. This will:
- Permanently delete your account from Firebase Authentication
- Delete all your memes from Firebase Storage
- Delete all your metadata (tags, captions, favorites) from Cloud Firestore
- Remove all associated data within 30 days
7.3 Data Portability
Use the ZIP export feature to download all your memes with metadata in a portable format.
8. Children's Privacy
LeMemery is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
9. International Users
LeMemery is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and stored on Google Cloud Platform servers, which may be located in various regions globally.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:
- We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top
- Significant changes will be notified through the app
- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance
